Just as an addendum, here's what i got just now when trying to play a 44.1khz 16 bit wav file by opening using the winamp file dialog, via 'all files *.*' So, firstly, any clues on getting wav displayed in the supported filetypes? (bearing in mind that I have assigned them in preferences)

I also had this problem with the previous version of winamp (5.3.?), so I unistalled that as completely as I could and did a fresh install of 5.5 in an attempt to get wav support.
